Nice fridge - thought I was buying a quality appliance. Freezer would not get cold enough. Called Whirlpool and had repairman come out twice. Finally deemed it unrepairable. Hassle to get a new one. Poor customer service on Whirlpool's part. I understand that you may get a "lemon" but I expected better customer service from Whirlpool. Very disappointed.

The refrigerator works well and the interior is well thought out and allows for flexibility and better storage. The ice maker on the other hand is a piece of junk. The manual says to make sure the refrigerator is level and the ice maker itself is level. The ice cube tray overflows and I have to shut it off and break up the iceberg with a hammer. If not for that I would give this unit 5 stars.

I bought this to replace a similarly configured Maytag fridge that lasted 12 years. It has several new or upgraded features. The glass shelves, sliding meat drawer and clear in-door shelves are great. It also has a much better air flow system that provides even temperatures throughout. Very pleased.

The technician came after the new refrigerator did not work anymore, he found out that the neutral wire has been faulty from manufacture. He has to order this part; it will take a week then they will let me know when technician will come back to repair this new refrigerator!

The shelving is flexible in layout and offers good visibility of food storage. Temperature control, however still remains a bit of a mystery. Often food at the bottom is frozen. Humidity control is good even on humid days. The refrigerator's capacity is better than our old one, and good for our needs. Accessibility is what I would expect, certainly better than some we have owner in the past. Overall, we are happy with our purchase and would buy another Whirlpool refrigerator.

I am unable to manage the temperature of the freezer or the refrigerator. The temperature of the freezer averages 5 degrees and will not go lower. The refrigerator is the opposite its temperature does not go above 34 degrees and is often lower. The company that installed it sail that these temperatures are normal which does not agree with the Whirlpool specifications. I would have liked to download graphs of the temperatures for a week at a time but that part of this review is not working

The unit is fine and works well, however the door squeaks when opening and closing. I called it in for service, which they did do and it still does it. Called it in again and nobody has shown up. Supposedly they are going to put on new door hinges. Sounds like an old, haunted house doors opening in one of those old horror movies. Just rattle a few chains and it makes a great sound effect for Halloween.

This refrigerator makes an intermittent loud squeaking noise. Can't tell if it's coming from the top or bottom. A service rep came out but (of course) it didn't make the noise while he was here. He opened the top and bottom doors. I asked him to look in the back but he wouldn't do it. He also said if it is working and keeping this the right temperature, Whirlpool won't do anything about the noise. I can hear this noise when I am upstairs and it is very irritating. I do not recommend this refrigerator.

it does a very nice job of keeping the consents cold. Since his my garage fridge, I store beer in bottles and cans, water and soda. The shelf spacing is difficult to store 2 shelves of bottles. There is just not enough space to move the elves for this arrangement. And it a bit noisy as well. But it does the job for all my overflow stuff.

Installed about 3 weeks ago...so far so good. I did internet search for reliable top-freezer and this was my choice for reliability, simplicity, capacity and price. In fact, this one replaced the 2002 version of this refrigerator which after an initial part replacement, served me maintenance-free for 24 years. The drain line was freezing up on the old one, which MIGHT have been resolved with a freon charge...but it was 24 years old, and I replaced it with today's technology for less than $1,000. I'm hoping, and expecting, to get good service from my new fridge based on my experience and research.

Selected because of height / width requirement, but this is the worst! It freezes lettuce, drips water into refrigerator portion requiring a ™€˜catch tub™€™ or shelves become shallow ponds, and freezes ice daily onto the floor of the freezer! This has been totally unplugged for days and problem continues as it has from day one of purchase. Is this a lemon or is this what is expected from Whirlpool? Thought initially it had items poorly arranged in both compartments, but there are no items next to walls or vents and it simply is a miserable unit with huge fluctuations in temperatures in both refrigerator and freezer.

Would not purchase this again. I have had so many issues with it. The door was damaged.. They kept sending me replacement doors that were also damaged or didn™€™t fit. After months of back and forth, they finally ended up sending me another refrigerator. The ice maker bar that raises to cause it to make ice does not work. The freezer trends to over freeze. So I have not been completely satisfied at all.

Not worth the hassle

Once every few weeks the refrigerator starts getting pools of water because the defroster behind the freezer compartment causes ice to build up. The water can't go down the frozen drain so it leaks down into the refrigerator compartment. I have to empty the freezer, remove the back panel, and use steam to melt the ice dam. This isn't a really hard job, but I'm really tired of having to do it. Also, the light switch that is activated when you open the door broke. On older models this was an easy repair, but now the switch is glued into the insulation so it's very hard to get out, and once you do, the wires are embedded in the insulation so you can't connect them to a new switch. My old fridge lasted 30 years, but I'm dumping this one after only 3 because I can no longer deal with the hassle.

Purchased this on 1/6/2023 for a seasonal lake home. The fridge has always been super noisy when the compressor was running. After 2 years (5 months a year) the compressor is extremely loud and the fridge will cool down to a nice 54 degrees. Spoke with customer support and they said they would be glad to set up an appointment to have it looked at (at my expense). So you spend $800.00 for a fridge and get a compressor that will barely make it out of their 1 year warranty. 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Absolute joke of a company.

Purchased at Lowe™€™s. Mfg date July 2023. Will not maintain upper or lower temp. Luckily purchased with extended warranty. It™€™s a bit difficult to schedule online service so bypass all that and speak directly with a rep. Rep came out in a couple days and said the unit was leaking coolant. Figured it out in 1 minute. Apparently the frig shows ice buildup inside on the right which indicates the back line is leaking. He reported back to the insurance company and it was determined not repairable. Lowes sent me a card for the full amount to purchase another frig. Oh well, other than the frig quality, customer service was fine.

The freezer maintains a temperature of 30 degrees. The refrigerator was purchased for a garage overflow storage. I was informed that the refrigerator was not meant to be placed in a garage and the freezer temperature would not get cold enough to freeze ice cream. I would like to know if this this is correct. The retail store said that I should have purchased a refrigerator that withstands colder temperature. When I called the 1 800 service after 45 min talking with a person, our conversation was disconnected. I thought they would call back since they ask for my phone # earlier in the conversation. Did I purchase the wrong refrigerator to place in my garage?

Rubber gaskets on freezer aren't a good seal

I bought this in the past month. Although the items in freezer stay frozen from the middle to back sections, the items in front and on the door get frost on them. It doesn't seem like the rubber seal on the freezer door has enough suction to close securely. Other than that (although obviously that is a major drawback) it is fine for storage capacity and organization of items. As always noted in reviews I read before purchase, it does hum rather loudly.

This new Whirlpool refrigerator replaced my other Whirlpool refrigerator that worked great for 20+ years. I am sold on Whirlpool appliances and the other brands that are manufactured under Whirlpool such as Amana to name one. The clean simple lines of this particular refrigerator look great in my extremely small kitchen. I am still getting used to the full glass shelving, as my last refrigerator had the separated shelves which I could move around to accommodate anything. Also, since I am a senior woman, I do find the full glass shelves more difficult to remove and reattach than the old smaller shelves. It will take me some getting used to before I'm comfortable doing this. I thought about giving 4 stars instead of 5 for this reason, but in the end I went with 5 stars due to the longevity of these appliances without any issues. Eventually, I will get used to the new shelves and be better able to change them around.

There is a surprising amount of space in this refrigerator! I replaced my french door fridge with this smaller model because I didn't want the fridge to dominate the kitchen (as they do these days.) This fridge has plenty of room inside, and I'm very happy to be rid of all the extra features. If you don't have a separate ice machine, you'll need to add one to your order, as ice is an option on this model. Personally, I like the extra space in the freezer!

We bought A similar model 20 years ago And that one was quieter and the door closed much more easily . We liked that model and that is why we bought this one

It™€™s basic and I appreciate that. The layout inside could be better. The drawer in the middle is a strange depth - it leaves a space under it that is hard to utilize. Same with the drawers at the bottom- could be utilized better.

So far, so good. I replaced a 30+ year old Sears Kenmore Side by Side that was pretty big. The delivery was smooth. I just wanted a plain refrigerator without all the bells and whistles to give problems. I put a thermometer inside and in the normal position it is maintaining at about 38 degrees.

Whirlpool appliances are junk/Won't honor warranty

A few months after buying this refrigerator brand new from Costco, the freezer is not keeping my food frozen. I have had technicians out multiple times to fix it and the problem still remains. I was getting no solutions from customer support, so I asked to speak with a supervisor. They called me back on another day and basically told me there was nothing they could do for me. Whirlpool appliances are junk and they will not honor the warranty. Buyer beware. I will be contacting a lawyer to resolve it through the court system.
