I shopped and shopped before I decided that: 1. Amana has the best product. 2. Amana is made in America. 3 A standard freezer over refrigerator has a longer lifespan. (My 9 year old appliance with extras DIED!) 4. Water in or through the door...and the other extras are where the appliance begins to fail. 5. Look on you tube or the internet to get feedback from the experts...the service people! (They have no reason to lie about what they see, and what they can or cannot fix!) 6. The longer working life of a refrigerator that keeps temperature throughout is the biggest/best selling point. 7. I plan to purchase a small ShopVac to keep those coils clean...just like the service person recommends. 8. I could purchase TWO Amanas compared to an overladen quicker-to-fail fancier brand. 9. The makers KNOW that overladen refrigerators fail faster. And most of them will service on the warranty, at the cost of $1600! And that means it drives the consumer to buy another appliance sooner. That, people, is planned obsolescence!

Freezer issue.

I bought this a month ago. The inside freezer seal or molding fell off and was very difficult to fix, causing items unable to freeze. Just recently got the seal o molding fixed, so for now working ok.

Not sure why but the freezer does not appear to freeze the ice cream but the ice cream melts. It is put in the garage where for the most it is not conditioned air so not sure if that impacts the operation of the fridge/freezer but somewhat concerning that the freezer does not keep ice cream frozen. Would appreciate any suggestions to see if that can be improved. All settings are on normal.

I bought this to fit in a restricted space where I had a broken fridge. It's a tiny bit wider, but it has less depth than my last fridge and fits a whole row less on some shelves. This Amana fridge also randomly makes noise and I don't have an ice maker. While it's not loud enough to be overbearing, it disturbs the peace and quiet. If I knew these things, I would've picked another option, but it changing fridges isn't easy. At least keeps everything cool and looks nice

Loud Compressor

This refrigerator works, but the compressor is louder than expected. Rather than a relatively constant hum/buzz while running, it sounds like gears starting and stopping. It doesn't drown out other things, but it's around 55-60 decibels (the sound level of normal conversation) and since it jumps in and out it can affect conversation in the kitchen while it's running. Overall, I guess it's fine but I wouldn't recommend it.

He came and was very rude only to say that yes the door is damaged and he could order another door only to have it be damaged as well. No phone # no name, no means of contacting him. Help!

Year 4 with this fridge and it been perfectly fine until today. This morning it semed that the bulb has burnt out. I replaced the bulb but still no light. In fact, the control panel lights are also not lit. It's been 24 hours and the fridge is still cold and the frozen food still seems to be frozen though we cannot recall hearing the fridge running at all today. Is there an internal fuse that needs replacing or what the heck has happened to this fridge?

If this unit worked properly, it would be exactly what I am looking for: A no frills refrigerator. The freezer would keep my frozen food frozen and the fridge would keep my cold foods cold. Unfortunately, the fridge freezes everything. Even after the repair guy came and changed the computer and thermostats, it's still freezing my milk, cheese, eggs etc. Pretty gross when you go to pour milk on your cereal and it comes out chunky.

A cheap piece of garbage

These refrigerators are so poorly made and should be avoided at all costs. I first took delivery of one that the freezer door gasket kept falling out. That one was replaced by Amanda with another one that makes horrible noises. I am awaiting service on the week old fridge now. Buy another brand. Horrible.

This fridge is less than 2 years old. it's always freezing the food despite all the manufacturer recommendations i.e. temperature settings, food placement, vegetables in the crisper only. Technician has been over multiple times - changed the door gaskets and the main control board twice! And it's still freezing the food. We've had to toss alot of food, it's ridiculous. Unionville Appliance, the authorized dealer/service depot has not rectified the issue ( it was originally a warranty repair ) - now that the unit is out of warranty it seems i'm going to have to pay out of pocket. Ridiculous, no one is standing behind this product and the issues i'm having.

Bought brand new. Very noisy, probable a bad evaporator or condenser fan and/or motor. Refrigerator keeps freezing up and lots of condensation in the refrigerator. The bottom seal of refrigerator is bad. No freezer light. Disappointed.

Works but noisy

It works as well as any freezer and refrigerator. Problem is the incessant noise. Ticking, tapping and the sound of a waterfall is seriously annoying. For the first month of ownership I moved it weekly thinking there was a leak because of the rushing water noise it makes every time I close the door. Whenever the compressor kicks in there is a cacophony of ticking and tapping that is so freaking annoying. I just moved in 2 months ago and all of my appliances are brand new Amana. The refrigerator is the only one that disappoints me. I don't have money to throw away but I'm thinking of getting rid of this brand new refrigerator just to get some peace and quiet. Also, the corners are sharp and I've cut my palm trying to open the door because the suction is too strong.

I love my new refrigerator. It is beautiful, and spacious. It is actually bigger then I thought it would be. The freezer is spacious as well. I love that you can move the door handle to the side that you need, so don't think you have to purchase a right hand or left hand fridge.
